Veta 7.0.48 Released

Veta Intelligent Construction

This is a recommended update. Some of these fixes will affect analysis results. A regression introduced in the previous update caused some analyses to fail has also been fixed.

Spot Tests

  • Fix: For some projects, spot tests did not automatically calculate their coordinates when using alignments.

Analysis

  • Fix: The previous exclusion filter changes caused the analysis of some filter groups to fail.
  • Fix: Changes to location filter endpoints were not always immediately reflected in the analysis.
  • Fix: Exclusions were not always handled correctly when calculating sublot coverage.

Miscellaneous

  • Fix: Fixed projects created in some old Veta 6 versions, where some filter groups created with the AASHTO template were not associated with the data filter.

Veta Intelligent Construction

Wide variety of fixes.

Data Import

  • Fix: Various issues with Vögele files. The Machine ID was not being imported, using the cold-edge filter caused a crash, and duplicate timestamps in files caused distance issues. Existing projects will be automatically reprocessed.
  • Fix: Failed downloads from the Vögele server could cause a crash.
  • Fix: Crash when importing some Dynapac files.
  • Fix: Some TDS files could not be imported.

Analysis

  • Fix: An exclusion filter with a Source of “Not used” was still affecting coverage calculations.
  • Fix: Rounding issue caused some paver stops less than the minimum duration to be detected.
  • Fix: Various fixes to the cold-edge filter. These changes will likely be most evident with PMTP projects where only a portion of dozens of sensors are used. Changes to the calculated coverage area may be evident in all PMTP projects.

Reports

  • Fix: ICMV percent change was missing from the search table and text report.

Miscellaneous

  • Fix: Importing filter defaults could crash if the file was corrupted.
  • Fix: Compaction temperature change was showing the percent difference instead of just the difference.

Veta 7.0.34 Released

Veta Intelligent Construction

We have an extensive number of changes and fixes in this release. Most of these only affect the usability of the software. Issues affecting the data download from Trimble/CAT and MOBA MCA were fixed as well as a Vögele import correction. Optimization of the Cold-edge and bracket filter for different sensor layouts may produce different results, especially if the data was from Trimble/CAT or Topcon.

Data Import

  • Change: Status messages show more information.
  • Change: TDS files with any timestamps of 0 will not be imported.
  • Change: Files with any coordinates that could not be converted will not be imported. Previously, these files were imported and would cause a crash when attempting to view the data.
  • Change: The default server for the MOBA MCA downloader has been changed.
  • Fix: The Trimble/CAT downloader could timeout if the customer had a large number of machines and/or files.
  • Fix: For Vögele data, the sensor location assigned by Veta was reversed. While existing data will be re-imported, Sensor location filters must be manually adjusted if necessary.
  • Fix: Canceling the download of data could cause a crash.
  • Fix: MOBA MCA data could not be downloaded.
  • Fix: The MOBA MCA downloader did not always provide an error message if “Sign in” failed.

Filters

  • Fix: The cold-edge filter did not work well when the sensors used were not centered.
  • Fix: Copying an override filter caused a crash.
  • Fix: Copying a data filter did not copy the filter settings.
  • Change: The Imported file name filter created when using the AASHTO naming template now better respects the default setting. Previously the “Use all” would match, but individual files would also be selected. For instances when the default is to not “Use all”, this can cause a serious performance issue when a large number of files is present. The filter defaults can be changed in the Options.

Analysis

  • Fix: Changing the measurements to be analyzed did not update the navigation list.
  • Fix: Changing the pass count specification values did not update the summary text.
  • Fix: Crash when displaying sublot analysis results if a measurement analysis had no results.
  • Fix: For the Thermal Profiler temperature analysis, the “Use quality thresholds” and “Use semivariogram” inputs did not work properly.

Reports

  • Change: For the Text report, if the number of data exceeds the limit (16,777,216), a report will be created that contains the data up to the limit, but no warning will be given. Previously the report creation would fail. A full report will be attempted in future version.

Miscellaneous

  • New: For search results and text file reports, the name of the file associated with each data is now listed.
  • Fix: Opening Veta with a project file that could not be opened caused the software to be blank.
  • Fix: Various crashes.

  • Fix: Crashes are less likely to happen when importing data and alignment files.

Analysis

  • Fix: Sublot analysis for some compaction filter groups could fail, causing no results to be shown for the group.
  • Fix: The coverage pie chart for each filter group was never drawn.

Reports

  • Fix: Fixed issue causing Excel reports to sometimes not be created.
  • Fix: Excel reports were always created for all analysis overall result sources, regardless of the sources selected.

Veta 6.0.151 Released

Veta Intelligent Construction

Some minor fixes in this release.

Analysis

  • Change: Minor change for sublot creation. This should yield a better success rate for sublot creation, however it will not work for very wide location filters (more than 12 meters). This may be addressed in a future version.
  • Fix: Errors in the compaction curve analysis could cause the entire analysis to fail.

Reports

  • Fix: Impacts per foot was missing from the filter group report.

Veta 6.0.147 Released

Veta Intelligent Construction

Numerous fixes. Of particular note, some projects will require reprocessing and the data length in thermal profiling coverage will likely be different if a project was not using meters.

Data Import

  • Fixed: Compaction mode was sometimes read incorrectly for TDS files. Existing projects with these files will be reprocessed when opened.

Map

  • Fixed: Rare crash when using the selection box to zoom to an area.
  • Fixed: Scale was always shown in meters or kilometers.
  • Fixed: Ruler distances were incorrect when using the coordinate system, “Other”.

Legends

  • Fixed: Removing all legend items caused a crash.

Filters

  • Fixed: Setting the source for a location filter to use an alignment file after changes had already been made to the filter could cause it to become corrupt. For existing projects, changing a value on the location filter back and forth may correct the filter. Such as changing an offset from 12 feet to 11 and back to 12. Otherwise, the operation filter will need to be recreated.
  • Fixed: Possible fix for crash when closing the filter group manager.
  • Fixed: Adding data from a new machine type to a project with existing operation filters did not set the defaults for some of the filters.
  • Change: If a project contains multiple machine types, applying the filter group will succeed if any of the machine types is successfully filtered. Previously, all machine types were required to be successfully filtered.

Analysis

  • Fixed: The data length for thermal profiling coverage was wrong when not using meters.
  • Change: If a project contains multiple machine types, the analysis will succeed if any of the machine types is successfully analyzed. Previously, all machine types were required to be successfully analyzed.

Legends

  • Fixed: Removing all legend items caused a crash.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed: The progress window may never close after being minimized.
  • Fixed: The Project-Legends window had an incorrect title.

Veta 6.0.142 Released

Veta Intelligent Construction

Numerous fixes and some performance improvements. Analyzing multiple filter groups for compactors will now use less disk space.

Data Import

  • Fixed: Rare crash when canceling import.
  • Fixed: Reading invalid TDS files may cause a crash.

Filters

  • Fixed: EVIB was missing units.
  • Fixed: Override filter settings that are less restrictive than the settings in the respective filters did not work properly.
  • Fixed: Locations filters with a small number of points might cause a crash when applied.
  • Fixed: Clicking within some filter items caused the current filter group to be unapplied.

Legends

  • Fixed: EVIB and frequency units did not always match the project SI unit setting.
  • Fixed: Changes to a legend caused maps to draw progressively slower with each change.

Analysis

  • Fixed: While in the thermal profile, changing the legend did not immediately have an effect.
  • Fixed: Distance, length, and area values and units did not match the project’s location unit if meters was selected.
  • Fixed: When “Use currently selected filter group” was selected, changing the selected filter group or override filter did not clear analysis results.
  • Fixed: Using a location filter with no source set would still show percent coverage in sublots.
  • Change: Reduced disk usage when analyzing compactor data.
