International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) conducted two IC webinars on Oct. 25, 2011 for its global members. The speakers included: Prof. António Gomes Correia, University of Minho, Portugal, and Dr. George Chang of Transtec Group.

US FHWA conducted an Intelligent Construction Systems & Technologies (ICST) Application Workshop on Sept. 7-8, 2011 to cover various topics including intelligent compaction.

The FHWA IC team conducted an Intelligent Compaction Workshop during the Geohunan International conference, June 9-11, 2011 in Changsha, Hunan province, China.

The FHWA IC Study team members presented at a Government Engineers Forum “Leading Edge Workshop – intelligent compaction and sustainability”, during theAAPT 2011 conference, March 27-30, 2011 in Tampa, FL.

Dr. George Chang, the PI of the FHWA/TPF IC team, and his colleague, Dr. Robert Rasmussen have received honors from the Rebuilding America’s Infrastructure as recipients of the Power List – People who make transportation infrastructure go.

The  FHWA IC Study team members presented under “Track 3: Intelligent Construction (Practical Implementation of Intelligent Compaction)” at the second International Conference on transportation Construction Management, Orlando, FL.

The  FHWA IC Study team members presented “Validation of Intelligent Compaction Measurement Systems for Practical Implementation (11-0854) – E01” and “Data Analysis for Hot-Mix Asphalt Intelligent Compaction (11-1262) – E03”, at Marriott, Salon 2, from 2:30PM- 5:00PM, during the TRB 2011 conference in Washington DC.
