An IC session was conducted at the Alaska Asphalt Summit in Anchorage, AK on Nov. 10, 2015. The speakers include Dr. George Chang (Transtec Group), Mark Eckert (Volvo), Tim Kowalski (Hamm/Wirtgen Group), Steven Ryan (Caterpillar), Nelson Jays (Accupoint- Trimble), and Jim Preston (TOPCON). All presentation will be posted by AKDOT in the near future.

An Intelligent Compaction (IC) workshop will be held during the 9th ICPT Conference in Dalian, Liaoning, China, August 10, 2015. The workshop speakers include: Dr. George Chang of Transtec Group. Please note that the above survey is more than 14 months old with only 2 responds (Alaska and Vermont) out of current 24+ agencies that have already implemented IC.  Please refer to the IC spec page for the list of FHWA, AASHTO, Federal Lands, and DOTs that have developed IC specifications.

The FHWA has published the final report of the Intelligent Compaction and Asphalt In-Place Density project. This project conducted intensive field studies between 2012 and 2014 to evaluate the relationship between asphalt in-place density and IC measurements. Download the Final Report.
